When a job ends, the residence visa usually ends with it. After cancellation you get a grace period to leave the UAE or change your status. Its length depends on your visa type, so check your cancellation paper or ask us before you make plans.

Switch to a visit visa: airport to airport

With an airport-to-airport (A to A) change, you fly out and come back on a new visit visa, usually on the same day. It suits people who want time for job interviews or to settle their affairs. We typically arrange it within a day.

The road option works the same way: you exit by bus and return on a new visit visa. We arrange the visa and the trip end to end, typically within two days.

Move to a new sponsor

If a new employer or a family member can sponsor you, a new residence visa can often be processed with a change of status from inside the country, so you may not need to leave at all.

When your old sponsor cannot be reached
